Welcome!

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by! This blog was created to document the sweet and simple days before our upcoming wedding, as well as the days that will follow into marital bliss. 50 years from now when we're old and gray, we can look back at this blog and remind ourselves of reasons to laugh and love, and of our life together--sweet & simple.

California. Day 1.

Finals are done for me. Medical school is done for Marco. So we decided to spend a week in northern California for some sight-seeing, some wine-tasting and more importantly, to visit dear brother, Nate.
Just out of Sacramento International airport (sorry for the phone pic.) Let's get this vacay started!

We headed to downtown Sacramento for brunch at this little dive called Black Bear. My first meal of the trip?  Buttermilk pancakes with cream cheese and strawberries.  So good.

Nate hammin' it up for the cam

Marco would rather just eat in peace, haha

After brunch at Black Bear, we walked down the street to Sugar Plum in search of some dessert!

Nate & his chocolate-chip cookie sandwich with peanut butter spread. Marco & his mocha cupcake.

Yes, my vegan blueberry cupcake was very delicious.

With all that food in our tummies, we decided to walk some of it off on the campus of UC Davis.

After several hours of hanging out at Nate's new pad, it was time for dinner.  We had to keep the streak of indulgence going so we decided on Hisui for dinner, an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet.  Chefs make sushi right in front of you and place it all on little boats that pass right in front of your eyes.  You see something you like, you grab it.  What an amazingly gluttonous concept!  We loved it.

Unlimited sushi definitely puts a smile on Marco's face.
Note: I have many pics of this trip involving Nate with food in his mouth.  You just get used to it.
